BlackMat MMA is an Official 501 (c) (3) Nonprofit Organization teaching Mixed Martial Arts to “At Risk Kids” and Young Adults in the city of Whittier, Ca. We are one of the first such Organizations in Southern California, where Boxing, Kickboxing, Wrestling, Jujitsu and Self Defense are instructed. The kid’s and young adults ages range anywhere from 15 to 25. We have approximately 30 kids and young adults at any given time. We teach how Humility, Patience, Self Control, Awareness and Self Discipline should always be before Self Defense. We show how Love, Acceptance, Compassion, and Respect for one another are important in their daily lives; along with a relationship with GOD!

Our Main goal is to give these kids and young adults a purpose in life, to get them off the streets, and to form a relationship with God to make these dramatic changes in their lives ...

The inherent idea behind the On Deck Foundation is to promote healthier lifestyles and success for underprivileged, “at-risk,” and “high-risk” children and communities. Within some of these communities, there are children experiencing all of the above. There is, and always will be, a special interest placed on wards of the state and foster-care. This idea is played out through awareness and outreach programs established, facilitated, and supported by the On Deck Foundation. With your help, the On Deck Foundation hopes to promote a more robust sense of self and community for these children, strengthening theirs, ours, and your community bonds.

Raised in the urban city of Compton, California, Richard Villa always knew he wanted to make people laugh.

After completing a Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering, Richard felt there was something more out there in stored for him. While driving home one night, the neon lights of the Irvine Improv called his name. Hey Richard!

Seizing the moment of amateur night, Richard grabbed the microphone, went on stage, and has not stopped since.
